Cancer Navigation roles have recently been initiated across Auckland and Northland. Currently there is variance with the models of care and the resources available to support the service delivery. Therefore a forum to support, assist and share learning provides an opportunity to expand services in a ‘best practice’ based manner.
It is the purpose of the Northern Region Cancer Care Coordinator forum to:
- Provide a forum to address cancer navigation related issues within the Northern region
- Identify key regional cancer navigator priorities, provide leadership and support to resolve these issues, and provide recommendations
- Provide an effective mechanism for developing solutions to cancer navigator issues that may arise between the four Northern Region DHBs and other organisations
- Provide advice on matters relating to the provision of cancer navigator services within Northern Region
The group is accountable to the existing line managers of each service: Auckland DHB, Counties Manukau DHB, Northland DHB and Waitemata DHB.
Members of the group are individually accountable in their role and collectively accountable in this group.
Meeting frequency: The RCCCF meet two monthly on the third Wednesday of the month:
20 March / 22 May / 17 July / 4/ September / 20 December
