Maree Pierce, Network Manager—Maree is responsible for leadership and strategic direction to the Northern Cancer Network in partnership with the Clinical Director. She is also responsible for the operational management of the Network Management Team. Maree is currently leading the regional radiotherapy strategic review and the development of the Networks strategic plan.
Richard O’Sullivan (ADHB), Clinical Director— Richard in partnership with the Maree is responsible for leadership and strategic direction to the Northern Cancer Network. He is also responsible for engaging with clinicians and leading clinical advice to the Network.
Gary Thompson, Project Manager—Gary is responsible for leading, facilitating and co-ordinating the scoping of inequalities, developing a plan of action with key stakeholders and facilitating the implementation of priorities for the Northern Region. Gary is of Ngati Paoa and Ngati Haua descent, of the Tainui waka.
Kirsty Hunter, Support Coordinator— Provides secretarial support to the Network while developing the office processes and Communications. Kirsty joined the Network in July and has several years experience in the Irish Health Sector and brings a valuable background in Communications to the Network.
Rachel Harley, Project Manager — Assists the Network part time from the NDSA and is currently establishing a Consumer Participation Forum, managing the DNA, Travel & Accommodation analysis and assisting in the development and co-ordination of the Cancer Nurse Navigator Forum.
Geeta Gala, Public Health Physician - This dedicated role provides public health and epidemiology expertise and will focus on undertaking analysis to inform priorities for the Strategic Plan, developing Network KPI’s and establishing baseline measures, assisting with development of a regional prioritisation process and data analysis for network projects.
Wendy Stevens, Health Services Researcher – Wendy is the lead investigator for the lung cancer research project. Wendy’s background includes general practice, palliative care, public health and statistics. She has extensive experience in clinical medicine, health services research and quality improvement of healthcare services.
Mark Young, Project Manager – Mark is responsible to manage the Networks Lung and Bowel Tumour Stream projects across the Northern region. He has many years experience in the New Zealand health sector as a registered physiotherapist and manager of various health services.
