The research team is comprised of several groups. Some members of the research team belong to more than one of these groups. The function and membership of each group is presented below.

Named investigators
Eleven named investigators are responsible for the conduct of the research, recommendations for service change, economic evaluation of the recommendation package, overview of the dissemination of research findings, and the reporting of progress to the Health Research Council District Health Board NZ Steering Committee.

Expert Advisory Group
The Expert Advisory Group (EAG) is comprised of most of the named investigators together with other key advisors. The 14 members of the EAG assist with conduct of the research, development of a best practice assessment framework, key performance indicators, recommendations for service change, and also will assist with the dissemination of research findings.

Inequalities Team
The six members of the Inequalities Team (IT) are responsible for guiding the inequalities aspects of the project, ensuring cultural appropriateness of the research, assisting with the approach to Maori and Pacific patients for interview, and assisting with dissemination of findings to Maori and Pacific peoples.

Governance Board
The three members of the governance board are responsible for oversight of the research project:

Dr Richard Sullivan as clinical leader of the Northern Cancer Network  is responsible for general oversight of the project.
Ms Deirdre Maxwell, Acting Manager of the Northern Cancer Network, is responsible for the provision of administrative support and for matters relating to contracting.
Dr Wendy Stevens is responsible for oversight of the research and for the project as a whole.
